Radio Diarö

In 1997 my colleague Axel Rockmann and I decided that it was time for Germany's first college radio over the Internet. Our university did not have a radio station at all, so we had to build "Radio Diarö" from the ground up.

We had to develop a concept, investigate the network structure, install RealAudio and Shoutcast servers, set up audio equipment, etc. Then we also did the advertising, broadcasting and DJ-ing all by ourselves.

During this project, I did not only learn a lot about the technical aspect of new technology, but also how to motivate and target the right audience.

There was no money involved during the whole project.
